Finally pulled my finger out and got started properly... not decided on exact composition yet but I'm thinking about a heavily mechanised Eldar force - fully expecting some drastic cost changes to Eldar vehicles in the next army book to bring them into line with other forces

Farseer and Warlocks on Jetbikes, I tried to make the Farseers bike bigger and more robust and also generally add some more 'bits' to the bikes to try and make them look a bit different to the standard troopers bikes

Walkers, I used the armoured shell heads of dreadnaughts rather than exposed crew mainly because I prefer a more robotic appearance but it also gives a big area to paint something Smile

Twisted the legs about to try and make them less static, these old metal figures are very very static compared to the new plastic kits - tho I don't want to spend cash if I can help it!

Nice. That pattern looks complicated though..

I prefer those walker bodies too, are they the old dreadnought bodies?

Woot! A new plog!

Looking good, the flying chinners.

Love the walkers - prefer 'em without the crew man actually.

Like the pattern but it looks like a right ballache for each one. Maybe a simpler design for the troops and jazz up the character's bikes?

First stab at the pattern

Quite happy with the bike, the walker isn't so great, there is some 'bobbly' bits that get in the way and I actually added a 3rd line at the top which I think I should just wipe out

Wow, they look sweet. Very impressed. The pattern looks really good if you can be arsed to do it on every vehicle. And yeah, I'd lose the extra strip on the walker - it'd m,atch the bike better then. Maybe just start the pattern a little higher up so it reaches the top? Or maybe just sod it and leave it like that!

So what's brought on this resurgence then Don?

Me likey.

I would stick with the bike pattern too, just the one strip rather than an extra line joining in.

Nice. Pattern works better on the bike. On the walker I would just continue the two lines all the way to the top. Initially, I thought that was what you had done, but just not filled in some of the black.

I can't really see enough of what the bike is like, but could you extend the patter, so that as it comes to the top, it continues into the bike handles - so they become white?

TBH I assembled the walkers and undercoated them a while ago, but I decided to get off my butt and do some painting - as I'm not really playing WoW outside of raids anyway

I think I'm going to try a pattern on the walker that runs along the side rather than centrally, so almost like a half pattern - hopefully leaving the main area blank will help them

Bit of an overnight update, popped some markings on 2 more bikes, plus a little extra for the farseer - I'll likely add some runes to all of them I think. Took off the extra pattern line on the dreadnaught but also did the 'side' pattern on one which looks much better I think. I'm not worried about the patterns being a bit different on the bikes, in fact on 2 of the bikes (yet to do) I added some 'tat' to the bike shell itself so I might even go for a side option on them

Actually prefer the side option, makes them look a bit snazzier and they aren't dominated by the pattern so much. As they stand, the middle pattern draws your eye to it and not the rest of the model. With the pattern on the side I think you look at it but also to the centre of the figure and it's not as dominant.

My big worry is that after popping a 'side' pattern on a couple of bikes, I decide its better than the central pattern on those too.... Maybe after I tint some yellow into the white to soften it and bring up the black with some grey highlights it will sit a bit better - and ofc atm its just a pure white pattern on an all black model, once the other colours are on they might not look so stark. The dreadnaughts tho, they defo want the side pattern, its much better. Did you like the yin yan?!

Look good they do, Mon. I like the pattern down the middle on the bikes, but you could always do them in squads, with each being different.

I also like the idea of all the Walkers being patterned differently - not such a hige issue as you can field them as single units.

Yin yang looks great! You could have a squad of white bikes with a black pattern too...

Progress shots, just getting onto the riders now

Trying to get some wraithbone plates onto the riders, then likely a subtle grey blue on remaining plates

Gonna look awesome them! You went for the pattern down the middle then? The colour scheme is gonna work well.

Any thoughts on the bases?

I'll probably vary the pattern from squad to squad, I have changed all my walkers to a side pattern now tho which looks much better

Not sure about bases, conscious that there will be a shit load of them to do so might leave them as plastic for now, I have attempted to subtly 'melt' the stands to twist them over, hard to see from photos but some of the squad are sort of angled as if they are turning at high speed

Looking good. Could you use coat hanger for the stand and attach the end to a more scenic base?
