To avoid getting a bump to highlight my laziness too, I will slap up some wip pictures of my sorcerer. Its a generic title as I still havent decided how to paint these. The main options I am leaning towards are either

The Prodigal Sons warband, a small force of sorcerers who follow Ahriman. Not much info on them.

The Scourged, a Tzeentch force who can hear every lie spoken by man. Tempting, Tzeentch has always been my favourite chaos god.

Emperors Children, oldie but a goodie! Not sure if I could paint all that pink though!

The Cleaved, a Nurgle force. Love the idea of suits of armour filled with goo!

All of the above! Do a renegade force comprising of squads from several legions. This probably appeals the most, as I can just use whatever I want to paint up.

Anyway, on with the images. excuse the bad pics, not much light and my camera doesnt zoomin that much.

Bog standard shot from the front.

A rear shot, you can kind of see where I have beefed him up, larger booties, and at the knee joint.

And the obligatory scale shot!

Overall, i have built him up at the feet and knees, at the shoulders, and widened the torso. Not huge amounts, but enough to make him look more impressive. I need to see how it goes with bog standard marines, but that's the plan anyway.

Wow! Not been on for a day and look what happens!

I really like that. Great bulky look and the posing is smart too. What's the head from?

So I guess that alone is an HQ?

Oh, and is that a painted dark eldar I see? We demand some pics!

As for which power, might be good going for something without much fluff, like the prodigal sons, and do your own thing (and get a colour that you like painting). Could always chuck in a daemon prince conversion later on as the manifestation of the minor god himself.

Problem with Tzeentch is that they seem a real pain to paint - all bright, swirling, garish colours and they often don't look that effective as 40k units and especially as marines. Reckon the same will apply to pink marines.....

I think Nurgle look the best for that, as they're all a staple green - earthy 'army' colours seem to look best. And once you get into the flow, they're probably the easiest to paint quickly and spend the time doing the gloop conversions. Also, nurgle is my fave, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Could go for a combined force and you can try yer hand at everything! Then again, you might lose some overall look of the army then though. Decisions!

Cool - looking good. You going for Tzeentch then? Looks a bit like Thousand Sons colours. Are you planning to highlight/edge the armour?

Looks great with the detail added and the gold trim. You do gems well an all.

Reckon you should go for an even lighter thin edge on the obsidian rock he's standing on to make it glow a litle bit!
